Basic B.Sc. Nursing:
This program of study leads to B.Sc Nursing Degree offered by the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore. The nursing candidates are necessary required to possess high motivation towards Nursing Profession. They should posses special qualities for a spirit of altruism, commitment and dedication to work and a high level of maturity. The students are provided with the roretical instruction integrated with clinical experience as per the requirements. They are also provided with advanced clinical experience in all clinical areas to enable the students to take up the first level position in Nursing. However with experience they can rapidly move into leadership and supervisory in various area of Nursing education and practice.

This program provides the necessary foundation to take up Post Graduates and Doctoral studies in Nursing.

Ordiance for the Bachelor of Nursing Course (Basic)
Eligibility for Admission
1.A Candidate seeking admission should have:
a) Passed the two year Pre-University examination or equipment as recognised by Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, with science subjects, viz, Physics, Chemistry and Biology.

b) Obtained at least 45% (Forty-five percent) of the total marks in science subjects of the qualifying examination, if belong to a schedules tribe, should have obtained not less than 40% (forty percent) of the total marks in science subject of the qualifying examination.

c) Completed 17 years of age at the time of admission or will complete this age on or before 31st December of the year of admission.

Steps of Admission
A request for prospectus and application form should be made to the Chairman, along with D.D. for Rupees 300/- (Three Hundred only) drawn in favour of the college. The duly filled up application along with the necessary documents should be sent with a crossed demand draft for Rs. 15 (One hundred & fifty only) payable to the College as registration fees. Fees once paid will not be refunded.

The following documents duly attested should be enclosed with the application:
a) One photostat copy of the statements of marks of the qualifying examination (10+2)
b) One photostat copy of the SSLC certificate showing the date of birth.
c) Two latest passport size photos. One affixed to the application from and one extra.
d) Conduct Certificate from the Head of the Institution last attended and form a prominent person of your locality.
e) Medical fitness certificate from a Registered Medical Practitioner.
f) Non-Karnataka, a candidates and Non-Resident Karnataka candidate claiming Karnataka Domicile should produce a Domicile Certificate.
g) Registration fee of Rs. 150/- (One hundred & fifty only) by Demand Draft.

Fee Structure
Information regarding fees structure can be availed at the office. Once advance/fees paid cannot be refunded or adjusted under any circumstances. If any student voluntarily withdrawal or is dismissed after admission/before completion of the course, the student should remit the fees for the entire course. Non payment of fees within specified time attracts dismissal or student. The fees structure is liable be changed at any time bearing in mind the inflation prevalent in the country.

Attendance, Progress And Conduct
Each student must have a certificate of satisfactory attendance, progress and conduct from the principal of the college of nursing of nursing to be eligible for appearing in the University examination.

Internal Assessment
A minimum of 80 percent attendance is required in theory and practical separately in each subject. Attendance of 10% may be condoned by the Vice Chancellor on the recommendation of the Principal based an gentility of the case.

P.S.:- Any one out of the three to be taken as an elective subject

B.Sc. Nursing

Eligibility
A pass in PUC (10+2) or equivalent University of Health Sciences Karnataka with subjects viz. Physics, chemistry & Biology with minimum of 50%

The candidate should have completed 17 years on or before 31st December of the year of admission.

Both Male and Female Candidates can apply.
Fair knowledge of English is essential.
Physically fit with sound mental health.

Examinations and Certificate
There will be three public examinations held by the Government of Karnataka Both written and practical examinations are conducted at the end of each year.

The Institute conducts selection of the candidates two months before the Common Board Examinations and only those who pass in the Selection Examinations will be allowed to sit for the Common Board Examinations. The minimum marks required for passing any examinations is 50% in each subject. No candidates is allowed to sit for Examination if his attendance is less then 75%. The percentage of classroom, clinical attendance general conduct of students and the performance in the clinical area are taken into consideration for the selection of the candidates for allowing them to appear for examinations.
